OEC was established as the premier private endoscopy centre in Myanmar, dedicated to the advancement of gastrointestinal healthcare. Over the span of more than 30 years, the centre has been resolutely committed to alleviating the burden of digestive diseases, thereby enhancing the quality of life for patients nationwide.
Over the years, the clinic has substantially expanded its offerings to encompass a diverse range of primary care and specialty services, extending beyond gastrointestinal and liver care, and has significantly enhanced its laboratory and imaging capabilities.
Milestones
- 1994 – the first private endoscopy centre in Myanmar
- 1994 – the first Gastroscopy procedure including haemostasis (for ulcer bleeding and variceal bleeding) performed in private sector
- 1995 – Oesophageal variceal ligation performed in private sector
- 1995 – Endoscopic polypectomy performed in private sector
- 1995 – Histoacryl injection of gastric varices
- 1999 – the first successful ERCP procedures in private secto
- 2004 – Dilation of achalasia cardia
- 2005 – Oesophageal stenting
- 2007 – Colonic stenting
- 2012 – Argon plasma coagulation
