Registered Nurses (Operating Room)

Job Summary

As an Operating Room Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring a sterile, safe, and efficient environment for both patients and surgical teams. You’ll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, high-stakes setting.

Job Descriptions

• Prepare the operating room and equipment to ensure surgical readiness and reduce delays.
• Verify patient identity, consent, and procedure details to safeguard against clinical errors.
• Maintain sterile techniques to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
• Assist surgeons proactively during procedures to ensure smooth surgical flow.
• Monitor patient vitals before, during, and after surgery to detect complications early.
• Accurately handle surgical specimens and records for proper diagnosis and traceability.
• Respond swiftly to intraoperative emergencies to support patient stabilization.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure clear communication and timely care.
• Check and replenish surgical supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
• Support anesthesia teams to ensure safe induction and recovery phases.
• Participate in audits and quality checks to uphold clinical and operational standards.
• Contribute to ongoing training and improvements to enhance surgical nursing practice.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.) or Diploma in Nursing
• Valid nursing license with a minimum of 1 year of experience in perioperative or surgical nursing
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an advantage
• Proficient in surgical instrumentation handling and adherence to operating room protocols
• Demonstrates the ability to perform under pressure with strong attention to detail and patient safety
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to surgical care
